• • are an excellent ecological option, since they are made with natural products and their wrappers are eco-friendly? This minimizes the use of products sold in plastic packaging, which, although mostly recyclable, many end up in landfills due to the low recycling rate in Puerto Rico (Gubitosa et al. 2019).
  • are an excellent option to reduce economic costs? This is because compared to traditional (commercial) ones, they have a longer shelf life and because of the low costs of their transportation and packaging (Gubitosa et al. 2019).
  • do not contain sulfates that dry out the hair compared to many of the traditional (commercial) ones? On the contrary, they tend to leave hair with greater softness and shine (Gubitosa et al. 2019).
